We are preparing to leave the city, and it’s surreal. I have packed boxes, sorted through mementos and winter coats and baby clothes and kitchen utensils and all the other things one does when moving. I have gone from a young woman eager for her next adventure in college to a graduate with a dream job to a honeymooning newlywed to a first-time mom while living among these skyscrapers and trains. I have done over a decade of life with the traffic and sirens in the background, a weird soundtrack but one that became mine. I wrestled with some of the toughest questions I’ve had, been angry at God, rejoiced deeper than I’ve ever had, learned hard things, and grew strong roots in Christ here.

Bunny Baby is a little over eight months old, and her face is changing – lengthening, looking more like a toddler, becoming less and less of a teeny baby each day. I marvel at this gift – she is my joy and THE blessing of my life.

Jesus has blown me over with answering “yes” t0 prayers before, but never before like this. The opportunities that He’s provided and worked over the past several months have been incredible and life-altering, culminating in this move out of the city. As we end this big chapter and start a new one, I’m praising His name the whole way out of town and into the next one. See what God has done. See His goodness! See His kindness and faithfulness. He is Lord, He hears us, He is always good. Thank you, Lord, for hearing us and giving us more than we ever imagined.
